2019 Wrap up

Welcome back to another school year. The following topics were covered at the last PAC meeting of the 2018-2019 school year.

Filtered water fountain and bottle filling station: We will be getting it for free sometime in the 2019-2020 school year and funds previously voted on for the water filter will be reallocated to other programs (likely technology). With VSB work load, we would not get water filter installed any sooner even if we paid for it.

Technology: At May PAC meeting, Ms. Appleby and Ms. Muzyka presented a technology plan which outlines a timeline and cost for acquiring laptops and iPads for the school computer lab and indicated that teachers are interested in reallocating funds from some other PAC-funded programs towards technology. PAC discussed the plan and reallocation of funds and will revisit and vote on it in the fall (at September meeting).

Sports uniforms: There is still some money budgeted for sports uniforms that has not been used. Mr. Marino will be getting uniforms for the new year.-

Sports Day: PAC donated freezies.

Dance: PAC got DJ, lights.-

Staff Appreciation: PAC provided lunch and gifts for staff leaving school.

Play first lunch: Planned for trial run in June but didn’t happen. PAC will request trial run with new principal in fall (at September meeting).

Lunch table: Not obtained because would not be needed with play first lunch. Waiting to see if needed.

Eating outside at lunch: Students are allowed to take food outside with them. Some aides and staff might be saying different, but they should be allowing students to eat outside at lunch.

School programs for next year: Teachers have been asked for ideas, parents also open to give ideas. (These are things like special dance, science, or other programs that PAC would pay for to come into the school).
