School Funding Request Follow Up
– Computers – iPads – We can’t sell or trade existing equipment (computers or iPads), it belongs to VSB. The Macs we have in computer lab still work, they just won’t be maintained by VSB anymore. They will remain there for now and will be used for primary and intermediate students. These desktops will not be replaced on an individual basis, but we may replace them all together at some time down the road. We also have a few iPads (with individual teachers, obtained through grants, etc) that still work and they will remain with the teachers who have them. For the immediate future, intermediate teachers would generally like laptops and primary teachers would generally like iPads. Laptops are $200 each and iPads are $450-500. Teachers and Liz are going to decide how to divide the $6,600 tech budget to get laptops and/or iPads and get back to PAC.
– Sports equipment – Teachers are in the process of inventory of current equipment and will provide requests for more when complete.
– Other teacher requests – Teachers took a lot of stuff that was cleaned out of PAC storage and are acquiring other items using classroom and school funds and will report back in December via Liz if there is anything they still need.
Other follow ups
Water bottle filling station – Waiting on trades to assemble quotes (installation requires multiple trades so it’s taking awhile). Once quote comes in, Liz will approve and if quote is higher than what PAC budgeted, school will cover remaining cost.
Lunch tables – We only need one more table (they are really big and fit like 40 kids) and Liz is working to get one from the district, it will come as a transfer from a school who has an extra.
Fruit & Veg program – Liz will organize staff to administer this program. Here is some info on it: https://www.healthyschoolsbc.ca/program/240/bc-school-fruit-and-vegetable-nutritional-program
PAC safe – PAC executive discussing whether we even need one or not (can probably leave this off the update)
Purdy’s – Bonnie is organizing a Purdy’s order, forms have gone home, orders due by November 26th, 2018. Pick up will be in the front entrance of the school on the following dates:
Wed: Dec 5 from 8:15-9:15 and 2:45-3:15
Thu: Dec 6 from 8:45-9:15 and 2:45-3:15
Fri: Dec 7 from 8:45-9:15 and 2:45-3:15
Spirit Wear – sales were good, about 50 orders with multiple items in most orders.
